2 Timothy 2:14- - (14) Of these things put in remembrance,
charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the
subverting of the hearers. (15) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth
not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (16) But shun profane and vain babblings:
for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
(14) In this letter the apostle Paul is pointing out thing we as Christians should do. First we are to control our tongues, that is to say we should not be dwelling on things that are not beneficial to our Fathers Kingdom. As Christians we are not to be a party to gossip nor any other unfruitful babblings. (15) We are to study God's Word and tell other about Christ (a workman). Studying alone is not good enough, a workman is one who labors. We must labor daily for Christ. In order to rightly divide the word of truth...In order to rightly dispense the word of truth...In order to righty interpet the word of truth, we must diligently study the word of truth....God's Word! (16) We should not allow ourselves to be a part of conversations in which others are either supporting, or bragging about acts or deeds which are not Christ-like (Christian) in nature. We should not boast about what WE did, or seek glory for our selves in any way. Just as Christ sought Glory for the Father in Heaven so should we also. |
